Anse Lazio is consistently voted the most beautiful beach in the world — a breathtaking bay on the northwest tip of Praslin with extraordinary granite boulders, powder-white sand, crystal-clear turquoise water and the lush green hills of the island as a backdrop. The beach is accessible by road (30 minutes from the ferry terminal) or by boat. It is the most spectacular beach in the Indian Ocean.
The Vallée de Mai is a UNESCO World Heritage forest and one of the most extraordinary natural environments on earth — the only place where the coco de mer palm grows wild. The coco de mer produces the largest seed in the plant kingdom (up to 25kg). The forest is ancient, primeval and extraordinary. The black parrot, found only in the Seychelles, lives here.
The Constance Lemuria is one of the most celebrated resorts in the Seychelles — a beautiful property on the northwest tip of Praslin with direct access to Anse Georgette (one of the finest beaches in the Seychelles), exceptional dining, a world-class spa and a championship golf course. It is consistently rated among the finest hotels in the Indian Ocean.
Anse Georgette is the most exclusive beach in the Seychelles — a stunning bay on the northwest tip of Praslin, accessible only through the Constance Lemuria resort (non-guests can access the beach by boat or on foot with a permit). The beach is extraordinary — wide, white sand, crystal-clear water and complete privacy.
Praslin has excellent snorkelling and diving — the reefs around the island are in good condition and the marine life is abundant. The best snorkelling is at Anse Lazio, Anse Georgette and the offshore islands. The dive centres offer PADI courses and guided dives on the excellent nearby reefs.
La Digue, the most beautiful island in the Seychelles, is just 15 minutes by ferry from Praslin. A day trip to La Digue — cycling to Anse Source d'Argent, the most photographed beach in the world — is the most popular excursion from Praslin and one of the finest experiences in the Indian Ocean.
The Seychelles black parrot (Coracopsis barklyi) is found only on Praslin — a rare and beautiful bird that lives in the Vallée de Mai and the surrounding forests. Birdwatching on Praslin is excellent, with the black parrot, Seychelles bulbul, Seychelles sunbird and many other endemic species.
Praslin has an excellent range of restaurants — from the exceptional dining at the Constance Lemuria to the local Creole restaurants around Baie Sainte Anne and Grand Anse. The fresh seafood, grilled fish and octopus curry are excellent. The local restaurants are affordable and authentic.
