The Seychelles is the Indian Ocean's most naturally beautiful destination — an archipelago of 115 islands that ranges from the dramatic granite giants of the inner islands to the flat coral atolls of the outer islands, each with its own extraordinary character.
The inner granite islands — Mahé, Praslin and La Digue — are the most visited and the most accessible. Mahé is the largest island and home to the international airport. It has excellent beaches, the Morne Seychellois National Park and the capital Victoria — the smallest capital city in the world. Praslin is home to the Vallée de Mai, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of primeval Coco de Mer palm forest, and Anse Lazio, one of the world's most beautiful beaches. La Digue is the most magical of the three — a small, largely car-free island where bicycles are the main transport and Anse Source d'Argent, consistently voted the world's most beautiful beach, is a short cycle ride from the ferry.
The outer coral atolls — Alphonse, Farquhar, Cosmoledo and Aldabra — are among the most remote and pristine places on earth. Aldabra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the world's largest population of giant Aldabra tortoises. The diving on the outer atolls is extraordinary — pristine coral, enormous schools of fish and some of the best fly-fishing in the world.
The Seychelles is the world's top honeymoon destination alongside the Maldives. North Island, where Prince William and Kate Middleton honeymooned, is one of the most exclusive resorts on earth — just 11 villas on a private island with its own conservation programme. Fregate Island, Denis Island and Bird Island offer similar levels of seclusion.
The best time to visit is April to May and October to November — between the two monsoon seasons, when the weather is calm and the sea is flat. We search across Travelpack, Emirates Holidays and JTA Holidays for the best deals, with the FIBI discount applied automatically.

Consistently voted the world's most beautiful beach. Enormous pink granite boulders frame a shallow turquoise lagoon and powder-white sand. The walk from the ferry through the vanilla plantation to the beach is magical.
The Seychelles is home to the world's largest population of giant Aldabra tortoises — some over 100 years old and weighing 250kg. They roam freely on several islands and can be hand-fed at many resorts.
The Seychelles is one of the world's best places to dive with whale sharks. The outer atolls — Alphonse, Farquhar and Cosmoledo — offer some of the most pristine diving on earth. The inner islands have excellent snorkelling.
The Vallée de Mai on Praslin is a primeval forest of Coco de Mer palms — a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was once thought to be the original Garden of Eden. The Coco de Mer nut is the largest seed in the plant kingdom.
The Seychelles rewards island hopping. Mahé has the airport and most facilities. Praslin has the Vallée de Mai and Anse Lazio. La Digue has Anse Source d'Argent and a car-free, bicycle-paced way of life. Each island has its own character.
Mahé's national park covers 20% of the island and protects extraordinary biodiversity. Hiking trails through mist forest to the summit of Morne Seychellois (905m) offer panoramic views across the archipelago.
The Seychelles has some of the world's most exclusive private island resorts. North Island (where Prince William and Kate honeymooned), Fregate Island, Denis Island and Bird Island all offer extraordinary seclusion.
Often cited as the second most beautiful beach in the Seychelles after Anse Source d'Argent. A sweeping bay of white sand framed by granite boulders and takamaka trees, with excellent snorkelling on the reef.
