The Trou aux Biches Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa is one of the most celebrated resorts in Mauritius — a beautiful property with direct beach access, exceptional dining, a world-class spa, a golf course and impeccable service. It has been consistently rated among the finest hotels in the Indian Ocean and is the flagship property of the Beachcomber group.
Trou aux Biches beach is one of the most beautiful on the north coast of Mauritius — a long, sheltered bay with calm, clear water, fine white sand and a relaxed, uncrowded atmosphere. The beach is popular with both tourists and local Mauritians, giving it an authentic character. The snorkelling directly from the beach is excellent.
The reef off Trou aux Biches is one of the most accessible and rewarding snorkelling sites in Mauritius — the coral is in good condition and the marine life is abundant. Green turtles are regularly encountered snorkelling from the beach, and the reef fish, rays and octopus are excellent. The dive centre offers guided dives on the nearby sites.
Trou aux Biches has a charming, relaxed village atmosphere — a small community of local restaurants, shops and guesthouses alongside the luxury resort. The village is more authentic and less touristy than Grand Baie (10 minutes away) and has a genuine Mauritian character. The local restaurants serve excellent Creole cuisine at very reasonable prices.
Trou aux Biches is just 10 minutes from Grand Baie — close enough to enjoy the restaurants, nightlife and water sports of the north coast's most popular resort, while staying in a quieter and more relaxed environment. It is an excellent compromise between the liveliness of Grand Baie and the exclusivity of Belle Mare.
The calm, protected bay at Trou aux Biches is ideal for water sports — kayaking, paddleboarding, windsurfing and glass-bottom boat trips are all available. The dive centre at the Beachcomber resort offers PADI courses and guided dives on the excellent nearby reefs.
Trou aux Biches faces northwest and has beautiful sunset views — the sun sets over the ocean to the northwest, turning the sky orange and pink. The beach bars and restaurants fill up every evening for the sunset. The combination of the beautiful beach, the sunset and the relaxed atmosphere makes Trou aux Biches one of the most pleasant places in Mauritius.
Trou aux Biches has an excellent range of dining options — from the exceptional restaurants at the Beachcomber resort to the local Creole restaurants in the village. The fresh seafood, curries and street food are all excellent. The local dholl puri stalls are a Mauritian institution.
