Pranburi Beach is the most pristine and undeveloped stretch of coastline in the Hua Hin area — a long, wild beach with fine sand, warm water and virtually no commercial development. The beach is backed by casuarina trees and low dunes rather than resort complexes, and the atmosphere is extraordinarily peaceful. The beach is divided into several sections, each fronting one of the boutique resorts, but the overall character is wild and natural.
The Aleenta Resort & Spa Hua Hin-Pranburi is the finest boutique resort in Thailand — a beautiful, intimate collection of pool villas and suites directly on the beach, with an extraordinary spa, an excellent restaurant and a genuinely private and exclusive atmosphere. The resort has only 30 rooms and villas, ensuring complete privacy. The pool villas with direct beach access are among the most romantic accommodation options in Southeast Asia.
The Evason Hua Hin Resort is the most family-friendly luxury resort in Pranburi — a large, beautifully designed resort with 185 rooms and villas, multiple pools, an excellent spa (the Six Senses Spa), a kids' club and a private beach. The resort is set in extensive tropical gardens and has a genuinely relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere. It is the best value luxury resort in the Pranburi area.
The Pranburi River estuary and mangrove forests are one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the Hua Hin area — a peaceful river winding through dense mangrove forests, home to a variety of birds (kingfishers, herons, egrets), monitor lizards and otters. Kayaking through the mangroves is one of the finest activities in the area and is available from several operators in Pranburi town. The mangrove forests are best explored in the early morning.
Brassiere Beach is the most beautiful and secluded stretch of beach in Pranburi — a pristine, crescent-shaped bay with fine white sand and clear water, accessible only by a short walk through the dunes. The beach is named after the distinctive shape of the rocky headland at its southern end. It is the most photogenic beach in the Hua Hin area and is rarely crowded even during the high season.
Pranburi has an excellent local fishing community and some of the freshest seafood in the Hua Hin area — the Pranburi fish market (open daily from early morning) is the best place to buy fresh fish, crab and prawns. The local seafood restaurants in Pranburi town are excellent and significantly more affordable than the resort restaurants. The Pranburi River is also popular for freshwater fishing.
Pranburi town has a good selection of local Thai restaurants serving excellent and very affordable food — the night market on the main street is the best place for street food, with excellent grilled seafood, Thai curries and fresh fruit. The resort restaurants (particularly the Aleenta and Evason) are excellent for special occasions. The Pranburi area is significantly more affordable than central Hua Hin.
Pranburi is 25 minutes south of central Hua Hin by taxi or car. The Aleenta and Evason resorts offer shuttle services to Hua Hin. Motorbike hire is available in Pranburi town. The Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park is 20 minutes further south. November to April is the best time to visit. The beach can be rough during the wet season (May to October).
