Call 01282 960 460The immaculate white sand, the calm reef-protected water, the world-class five-star resorts and the manicured beachfront promenade that make Nusa Dua Beach the finest and most exclusive beach in Bali.
Nusa Dua Beach is the most immaculate and well-maintained beach in Bali — a long, wide stretch of brilliant white sand stretching for approximately 3km along the sheltered southeast coast, with calm, clear water protected by a coral reef. The beach is divided into sections fronting each of the major resorts, with a public beach area at the northern end. The sand is raked daily, the water is clean and the facilities are excellent. The beach is the finest in Bali for families with young children.
Nusa Dua has the greatest concentration of five-star resorts in Bali — the St Regis Bali Resort (the finest hotel in Bali, with extraordinary lagoon pools and butler service), the Mulia Resort (the largest and most spectacular resort in Bali), the Grand Hyatt Bali (the most family-friendly resort), the Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort and the Westin Resort Nusa Dua. All the major resorts have direct beach access, multiple pools, world-class restaurants and full spa facilities.
The Nusa Dua beachfront promenade is the finest in Bali — a manicured, landscaped walkway running the full length of the beach, connecting all the major resorts and giving access to the beach from the resort complex. The promenade is lined with tropical gardens, sculptures and art installations and is the most pleasant beach walk in Bali. The promenade is open to all visitors (not just resort guests) and is the best way to explore the Nusa Dua beachfront.
Nusa Dua Beach has the best water sports facilities in Bali — the calm, reef-protected water is ideal for a wide range of activities including snorkelling, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, windsurfing, parasailing and banana boat rides. The water sports operators are based at the northern public beach area and at Tanjung Benoa (the water sports capital of Bali, 2km north). The snorkelling on the reef just offshore is excellent — good coral and a variety of reef fish.
Pura Geger is the most beautiful and atmospheric temple in the Nusa Dua area — a Hindu temple perched on a rocky headland at the southern end of Nusa Dua Beach, with extraordinary views of the Indian Ocean and the Bukit Peninsula. The temple is still in active use and is open to respectful visitors (sarong required). The headland below the temple has a beautiful and secluded beach (Geger Beach) that is less crowded than the main Nusa Dua Beach.
Nusa Dua has excellent dining — the five-star resorts have world-class restaurants serving international and Indonesian cuisine, and the Bali Collection shopping centre has a good range of restaurants and cafes. The finest restaurants include the Kayuputi at the St Regis (the most acclaimed restaurant in Nusa Dua, with extraordinary views of the lagoon), the Enju at the Mulia (Japanese fine dining) and the Boneka at the Grand Hyatt (Indonesian and international cuisine). The resort restaurants are expensive but the quality is exceptional.
Nusa Dua has the finest spa facilities in Bali — all the major five-star resorts have world-class spas offering traditional Balinese treatments (massage, body scrubs, flower baths) alongside international treatments. The finest spas include the Remede Spa at the St Regis, the Mulia Spa at the Mulia Resort and the AWAY Spa at the W Bali. The spas are the most luxurious in Bali and are significantly more affordable than equivalent spas in Europe or Australia.
Nusa Dua is 20 minutes from Ngurah Rai Airport by taxi — the closest major resort area to the airport. The resort complex is gated and well-maintained. The public beach at the northern end is accessible to non-resort guests. Taxis are the main transport within and around Nusa Dua. April to October is the best time to visit. The water is calm year-round due to the reef. Book the five-star resorts well in advance during peak season (July–August and December–January).
