Things To Do in Grand Etang National Park

The best rainforest, waterfalls and spice experiences in Grenada's interior.

Grand Etang Lake

Grand Etang Lake is a volcanic crater lake at 530 metres above sea level — the centrepiece of the national park and one of the most beautiful natural features in Grenada. The lake is surrounded by lush rainforest and is home to a wide variety of bird species, including the Grenada dove. The visitor centre has excellent exhibits on the park's ecology.

Seven Sisters Waterfalls

The Seven Sisters Waterfalls are one of the most spectacular natural attractions in Grenada — a series of seven cascades in the rainforest, accessible by a 45-minute hike through lush tropical vegetation. The pools at the base of the waterfalls are perfect for swimming. The hike is moderately challenging but the reward is extraordinary.

Concord Falls

The Concord Falls are three beautiful waterfalls in the rainforest — the most accessible waterfall attraction in Grenada. The first waterfall is a short walk from the road. The second and third require a longer hike through the rainforest. All three are beautiful, with clear pools perfect for swimming.

Belmont Estate

The Belmont Estate is a working organic farm and spice plantation in the north of Grenada — one of the best places to learn about the island's spice heritage. Tours cover the production of nutmeg, mace, cocoa, cinnamon and other spices. The estate has an excellent restaurant serving traditional Grenadian food, and a chocolate-making demonstration.

River Antoine Rum Distillery

The River Antoine Rum Distillery, dating from 1785, is one of the oldest rum distilleries in the Caribbean — and one of the few still using water-powered machinery. Tours of the distillery show the entire rum-making process, from sugar cane to bottle. The rum produced here is exceptionally strong and is sold only in Grenada.
