Things To Do in Antalya & Belek

World-class resorts, championship golf, ancient ruins and exceptional food.

Ultra All-Inclusive Resorts

Belek is home to the finest ultra all-inclusive resorts in the world. Rixos Premium Belek, Maxx Royal Belek, Regnum Carya and Kempinski Hotel The Dome offer unlimited premium spirits, 10–15 à la carte restaurants, watersports, spa treatments and nightly entertainment — all included. The value compared to equivalent resorts in the Caribbean is extraordinary.

Championship Golf

Belek is Turkey's golf capital — home to over 10 championship courses including the National Golf Club, Montgomerie Maxx Royal and Cornelia Golf Club. The combination of excellent courses, warm weather from March to November and all-inclusive resort packages makes Belek one of the best golf holiday destinations in Europe.

Beaches & Watersports

The beaches along the Antalya coast are excellent — long stretches of fine sand and pebble backed by pine forests. Most 5-star resorts have private beach areas with sun loungers, watersports centres offering jet skiing, parasailing, banana boats and windsurfing, and beach bars serving cocktails all day.

Antalya Old Town (Kaleiçi)

Antalya's old town is one of the most atmospheric in Turkey — a maze of narrow cobbled streets, Ottoman houses, Roman ruins and a beautiful harbour. The Hadrian's Gate (a 2nd-century triumphal arch), the Yivli Minaret and the ancient harbour walls are the highlights. The old town is 45 minutes from Belek by taxi.

Aspendos Roman Theatre

Aspendos, 30km east of Antalya, has the best-preserved Roman theatre in the world — a 2nd-century AD theatre that seated 15,000 people and is still used for opera and ballet performances today. The acoustics are extraordinary. Combined with the nearby ancient city of Perge, it makes for an excellent half-day excursion from Belek.

Turkish Cuisine

Beyond the resort restaurants, Antalya has an excellent food scene. The old harbour area has dozens of restaurants serving fresh fish, meze and grilled meats. The Antalya bazaar is the place for Turkish street food — gözleme (stuffed flatbread), simit (sesame bread rings), fresh pomegranate juice and Turkish ice cream.

Resort Entertainment

The major Belek resorts put on exceptional evening entertainment — live music, Turkish folk shows, acrobatics, themed nights and international acts. Rixos Premium Belek in particular is famous for its entertainment programme, which rivals anything you'd find at a European theme park resort.

Antalya & Belek Travel Guide

Antalya and Belek represent the pinnacle of Turkey's all-inclusive holiday offer — and arguably the best value luxury beach holiday in Europe. The 'ultra all-inclusive' concept was invented here, and the resorts in Belek have refined it to an extraordinary degree over the past 30 years.

What sets Belek apart from other all-inclusive destinations is the sheer scale and quality of the resorts. The Rixos Premium Belek, for example, has 14 restaurants, 8 bars, a 2,000 square metre spa, a private beach, 5 swimming pools, a waterpark, a golf course and nightly entertainment — all included in the room rate. The equivalent resort in the Maldives or Caribbean would cost three times as much.

The beaches along the Antalya coast are backed by pine forests, which gives the area a distinctive character — you're not in a concrete jungle, but in a resort set within a natural landscape. The sea is warm from May to October, and the summer weather is reliably excellent.

Antalya city itself is worth a visit — the old town (Kaleiçi) is one of the most atmospheric in Turkey, with Roman ruins, Ottoman architecture and a beautiful harbour. The Antalya Museum is one of the finest archaeological museums in Turkey, with an extraordinary collection of Roman statuary from the nearby ancient cities.

For golfers, Belek is simply one of the best destinations in Europe — excellent courses, warm weather for most of the year, and the ability to combine golf with an all-inclusive resort package at a price that would be impossible to match in Portugal or Spain.
