The most beautiful natural harbour in the Caribbean — yachts, restaurants and spectacular sunsets.
Marigot Bay is one of the most picture-perfect spots in the Caribbean — a stunning natural harbour on the west coast of St Lucia, surrounded by lush green hills and fringed with palm trees. The bay has been used as a location in several Hollywood films, including Pirates of the Caribbean. The combination of turquoise water, swaying palms and dramatic green hills makes Marigot Bay one of the most photographed spots in the Caribbean.
Marigot Bay Marina is one of the most popular anchorages in the Caribbean — a beautiful waterfront with berths for yachts, a great selection of restaurants and bars, and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. The marina is a hub for the Caribbean yachting community and is particularly lively during the sailing season from December to April. Water taxis cross the bay between the two sides.
Marigot Bay has a wonderful selection of restaurants and bars on both sides of the bay. The waterfront restaurants serve fresh seafood, Creole cuisine and international dishes in a spectacular setting. The Doolittle's restaurant, named after the 1967 film Dr Dolittle which was partly filmed here, is one of the most popular. The bay is particularly magical at sunset, when the hills glow golden and the water turns to glass.
Marigot Bay has a small but beautiful beach at the head of the bay — a peaceful stretch of soft sand perfect for swimming and relaxing. The beach is less crowded than the main resort beaches in Rodney Bay and has a wonderfully tranquil atmosphere. The snorkelling just offshore is good, with clear water and a variety of marine life.
Marigot Bay is ideally located about 20 minutes south of Castries, making it an easy day trip from Rodney Bay or a convenient stop on a catamaran cruise along the west coast. The bay is also a popular stop on the road south to Soufrière and the Pitons. The combination of natural beauty, excellent restaurants and a relaxed atmosphere makes Marigot Bay one of the most rewarding stops on any St Lucia itinerary.
