Bob Marley Museum

The Bob Marley Museum is one of the most visited attractions in Jamaica — housed in the legendary musician's former home and recording studio at 56 Hope Road. The museum has an extraordinary collection of memorabilia, photographs and personal effects, and offers a fascinating insight into the life and legacy of one of the most influential musicians in history.

Devon House

Devon House is a beautifully restored 19th-century mansion in the heart of Kingston — one of the finest examples of Caribbean colonial architecture. The house is home to the famous Devon House ice cream (widely regarded as the best in Jamaica), excellent restaurants and a range of shops. The grounds are beautifully maintained and are a popular spot for locals and visitors alike.

Reggae Culture & Music

Kingston is the birthplace of reggae and the heart of Jamaican music culture. The city has a vibrant live music scene, with reggae, dancehall and ska performed in clubs and bars throughout the city. The annual Reggae Month in February celebrates the island's musical heritage. The National Museum of Jamaica has excellent exhibits on the island's music history.

Food & Restaurants

Kingston has the best and most authentic Jamaican food on the island. The city's restaurants serve everything from traditional Jamaican dishes — ackee and saltfish, curried goat, jerk chicken, oxtail stew — to international cuisine. The Courtleigh Manor Hotel and the Pegasus Hotel are popular dining destinations. The New Kingston area has a wide range of restaurants and bars.

Port Royal & History

Port Royal, accessible by ferry from Kingston, is one of the most fascinating historic sites in the Caribbean — a legendary 17th-century pirate city that was largely destroyed by an earthquake in 1692. The site has a small museum and several historic buildings. The ferry journey across Kingston Harbour offers spectacular views of the city and the Blue Mountains.
